Counting Down To Anguilla
Our Family History
Our family tree begins with our beloved mother, Zerah Vanterpool, a woman whose life created a legacy that future generations can look upon with pride and admiration.
Although Ma had very little formal education and limited material resources, she possessed great wisdom, unwavering determination, and a deep understanding of what mattered most. Her life was grounded in three enduring loves: her love for God, her love for family, and her love for Anguilla.
Ma believed strongly that education was a pathway to a better life. She encouraged each of her children to learn, grow, and reach beyond the circumstances into which they were born. With the little she had, she did everything within her power to help every one of them succeed. Her sacrifices, encouragement, and determination opened doors for her children and helped lay a strong foundation for the generations that followed.
Her legacy cannot be measured by possessions or formal qualifications. It lives in the faith she nurtured, the family she held together, the opportunities she created, and the values she passed down. It is found in every child, grandchild, and future descendant who carries forward her strength, compassion, perseverance, and love.
Ma is the root from which our family tree grows. From her strong foundation, its branches continue through the Harrigan, Webster, Vanterpool, Rogers, Ruff, Weekes, and Brandon families—and they will keep growing for generations to come.
May every branch remember Ma's story, honor her sacrifices, and carry forward the legacy of faith, family, education, and love for Anguilla that she so faithfully began.
